Based on the Corgi “non-competitive” Ford Mustang No. 320, released in April 1965, this new racing version hit stores just in time for Christmas.
Both models were equipped with a wide range of features, such as opening doors and reclining seats—all highly innovative for the time.
With an elegant white body and two red stripes on the hood, this new racing model has thoughtfully omitted the small plastic corgi from the previous version on the rear shelf.
Eagle-eyed enthusiasts will also have noticed that the tiny AA badge on the rear of the older model has been removed for this new version—a commendable attention to detail that goes a long way toward explaining Corgi’s enduring popularity.
