Nothing is more representative of the Corgis from the mid- to late 1960s than this magnificent Lotus-Climax race car.
Introduced in December 1964, just in time for Christmas, it was a must-have for schoolchildren of the era.
Based on Colin Chapman’s aerodynamic design—which first raced in 1962 and was driven by Jim Clark—this superb Corgi model is painted in a classic “British racing green” livery, complete with a yellow racing stripe and the iconic number one decal.
Curiously, the illustration on the box showed the car with the number four. Better yet, it came with a miniature driver—perfect for staging your own Grand Prix on the living room rug!
